Background to CADAC South Africa

The company was established in Johannesburg as long ago as 1948. It started out as a manufacturer of garden equipment, but expanded its business by 1957 to that of Liquefied Petroleum Gas which would be used for cooking purposes. This marked the start of our branding and full scale production of LPG gas cylinders and related equipment.

The product range expanded over the years to include heating, cooling, adventure, barbeque, lighting, and leisure equipment. We became a household name in the country. Our policy shift to outdoor leisure became official from around 1995 when a whole new range of products was introduced to include products for safari, hiking, and more.
