How to select braais

Selecting braais are not all that difficult. Simply follow the guidelines below and you will become a master selector of braais in no time at all.

Consider convenience

If you want to invest in a charcoal grill unit choose one that has an ignite system to ensure that the fire will be going in no time. You will find the Fire-up and various items under our accessories category useful when you have to light a charcoal fire.

Are you a fast or slow cook?

If you want things to be done quickly then go the gas braai route. The fire lights immediately and the heat will be just right within a few minutes. If you like to take things slower the charcoal option is for you. This will mean more time for socializing while the fire heats the coals and since it also takes a bit longer to cool down, there will be ample time to enjoy the fire. Gas braais are made for convenience and charcoal barbeques for atmosphere.

Mess free cooking

Whether you select a gas barbeque or one of the charcoal braais go for one that ensures mess free cooking. Ash all over the patio after a barbeque means dirt walked into the house. The same applies for outdoor camping areas. Invest in a barbeque that has an ash collecting tray.

Wind screen

You can either make your own wind screen while camping or go the convenience route by selecting a barbeque that comes with a dome lid that can be placed into the side handle and act as a wind screen. The latter is by far easier.

Also consider some of the essential items that you will need such as meat thermometers for the charcoal braais, grill brushes and cleaners, as well as the essential utensils. All of the mentioned items can be found right here at Cadac.
