Gas accessories – questions answered

Some of the most frequently asked questions about Cadac gas accessories are answered below to help people make informed buying decisions and to ensure safe usage of our gas accessories.

Cylinder is leaking – what can be the cause?

A leakage can occur when the sealing is not working properly. Numerous refills may lead to wear and tear on the bleeder plug, which subsequently will lead to damage on the seating area. The cylinder eventually will not seal and leakage will occur. Another reason for leakage is that the bleeder plug is too tight, which is often the cause as the gas refill establishment employees often over tighten it. The solution is to replace the bleeder plug. Check your equipment on a regular basis and take it in for routine inspection to a Cadac agent or approved gas refill supplier to check whether it is still in good working condition.

Why and when will a burner melt?

A burner will melt if it gets too much gas. The flame will become hotter than it can take, resulting in a melted burner. It may be caused by wrong usage of the stem or the usage of a wrong stem. Only use the stem as indicated in the product manual and do not use any other stem with the specific piece of equipment if not recommended by the manufacturer.

Where can a person have their LPG Gas Cylinder and gas accessories checked?

You can either go to a Cadac Agent or to any authorized LPG gas dealer. We recommend that you view the LGSASA website for a list of dealers in your area. Many of the fuel stations on route to your holiday destination are approved LPG gas dealers and will be able to check your equipment.
